Introducing the
2019 LGBTQ+ Community Advocate Award
About the Award

This award recognizes contributions to or advocacy on behalf of the LGBTQ+ communities in the Madison, Wisconsin area. Individuals who have contributed in one or more of the following ways are eligible for consideration:

  • Elevated the status of LGBTQ+ identified persons and/or allies.
  • Helped to improve community policies affecting LGBTQ+ identified persons.
  • An individual who has been a strong advocate for inclusion and diversity within the LGBTQ+ community
  • Enhanced visibility and awareness of LGBTQ+ issues.
  • Must be nominated by a member or sponsor organization.
  • Must be a person or business/organization residing in Dane County who is working to advance the equality and quality of the life for the LGBTQ+ community
  • The winner will be voted on by the Board of Directors
  • Board of Directors are ineligible to receive the award
  • Diversity of nominees must be considered. Care must be taken when selecting the winner to ensure ethnic, racial, gender, and orientation
  • Please send your nominations including a brief summary of why the person or business/organization is qualified to receive this award to info@openmadison.org

Nominations are due by January 31, 2019. The recipient will be recognized at the OPEN Annual Dinner on March 15, 2019.
