The Membership Committee (MC) shall consist of the Membership Committee Chairperson and such other members as designated by the Board from time to time. MC reports to the board of directors and is responsible for membership recruitment and retention, review of finances, and administration of the OPEN Community Grant. The committee shall ensure that the Board has a continual stream of insight into member need and interests, and that members feel welcome and included at events and find value in the organization as a whole.
The Events Committee (EC) shall consist of the Events Committee Chairperson and such other members as designated by the Board from time to time. EC reports to the board of directors and is responsible for planning, running, and evaluating high-quality events and experiences that meet the diverse needs and interests of our members. The committee shall ensure that events are enriching, providing value for both professional development and establishing a sense of community within the organization. Events shall be fiscally responsible, benefit all Associates of OPEN, and support the mission and vision of the Corporation. When applicable, members shall consider partnerships with other organizations for jointly-planned events as a means to increase community, visibility, and membership recruitment.
The Engagement Committee shall consist of the Engagement Committee Chairperson and such other members as designated by the Board from time to time. The Engagement Committee reports to the board of directors and is responsible for relating, connecting, and working toward collaborations with other Dane County-based groups who strive to create a more socially just world. The Engagement Committee will also support intersectionality of the LGBTQ+ identity with other historically marginalized or oppressed groups, such as those who experience discrimination and oppression because of class, race, ethnicity, ability, and/or religious creed. The Committee will provide our members with the resources they need to build common cause with other groups to support collaborative action. The Engagement Committee will work with the Events Committee to provide partnership and event opportunities with other organizations.
